The exterior of REDOX pipe is cleaned to a SSPC-SP8 finish. This exceeds the requirement for surface preparation for most paints. Because the preservative coating on the pipe is only 1.5 microns thick, quick removal with a tack rag and a small amount of thinner is all that is needed. In many applications there are corrosion-resistant paints that can adhere properly to REDOX pipe even in the most hostile enviroments. This will help to dramatically reduce your project costs by eliminating the need for stainless pipe in some systems operating in marine service, food processing, chemical plants, etc.
