TECH SHEET - STORAGEThe piping for your system needs to be as clean as the components it connects. Flushing can only be expected to remove the fabrication debris; therefore the pipe must not be allowed to rust. To prevent rust, store the pipe inside at the job site. The packaging that the pipe comes with is not suitable for outdoor storage. If the pipe is going to another location, it is important that the words KEEP DRY be placed on the front of the bill of lading. During the fabrication process, any lengths of pipe that are partially consumed should be re-plugged to prevent contamination from entering the pipe. For longer-term storage the pipe should be located as far from any door as is practical. This will keep moisture and dirt-laden air from settling on the pipe. If it is practical, the pipe should be stored away from sources of contamination such as grinding and painting.
